Gentle Reminder

This Is True

You deserve peace of mind.

And peace of heart.

It’s that simple.

Regardless of whatever else is going on.

Regardless of what you’ve done or haven’t done.

Regardless of the political situation and the climate crisis.

Regardless of whether your meditation technique has been working for you lately or not.

You deserve peace of mind and peace of heart.

(I need to remind myself of this often.)

Indivisible

I woke up last Saturday with a lot of anxiety. It happens sometimes. (And no, I don’t take meds for it. I go for walks instead.)

That afternoon I rode my bike to an Indivisible meeting which dissipated my anxiety, because there were well-intentioned people there, all committed to doing SOMETHING, at least some small thing they can do, to help save our country. Just normal unassuming folks with a sense of civic responsibility.

When we had breakout groups, I went with the “letter writing” group. The other groups were … let’s see … protest (organizing), art projects, recruitment, phone banking, and canvassing.

If you’re looking for a simple easy way to “plug in” I recommend Indivisible. They’ve got local chapters all over the country now. Nice people. Meaningful activity.
