The Voice of Sleep

The voice of sleep

This week’s brand new Higher Thought question – which came to me unstoned – is:

If sleep could speak, what would it say?

No one really understands me.

I am vaster than the ocean and more powerful than water.

I provide a foundation to your existence.

I am the soil in which your deepest roots are nourished.

People would like to “need less” of me. This is delusional thinking.

I am your soul’s playground.

I’m your ego death every day.

I am your real life.

I am where the spirits live.

Why don’t you come to me sooner when I call?

Trust me.

I love you.

Nothing has any flavor or depth without me.

To deliberately deprive someone of me is a form of spiritual depravity.

I’m a healing mist in your mind.

I breathe life into your days.

You are never more alive than when you’re in my embrace.

I have your back, and your front, and your sides, and your up and down too.

I make you aware of things you would not otherwise know.

I am the place where you know all those things that you don’t let yourself know when you’re “awake.”

Here are my answers. I think they form a type of poem, would you agree?

What do YOU think sleep would say, if it could speak?

My friend Brenda suggests it might say, “You know you want me.”
