There’s lots of birdsong in my neighborhood. I especially hear it in my backyard – so many birdsongs!
The word “song” helps me appreciate their sensual beauty. If the only English word that existed for the sound a bird makes was “chirp,” I would experience that sound in a profoundly different way.
