There is cruel laughter. There is the laughter that arises when we suddenly see the obvious. There is the laughter of relief. There is the laughter of surprise. There is laughter that relieves tension. There is dismissive laughter. There is laughter that forgivingly informs someone “it’s not a big deal really.”
There is forced laughter. There is irrational laughter. There is dishonest laughter. There is reluctant laughter. There is guilty laughter. There is sweet laughter and bitter laughter and loving laughter and hateful laughter. What am I forgetting?
